What is it?
See if you can work out the subject from the first picture.

Yes, my favorite palm tree, out front of my house, by the lagoon. The reflection was breath taking.

Where did July go? Covid lockdowns haven’t helped. Time’s flying by. There are some colours of July.

I found some swans in a little channel that abounds the farm. I watched them for ages while they posed. I was pleased to photo them in more unusual poses, rather than floating serenely by. Here’s one, standing on one leg, all fluffed up from the back and with a bendy neck.

These birds tease me endlessly. I know that at least one hangs out very close to the house, by the water. Yet, I’ve found it very difficult to photograph one. By the time I run back in the house for the camera, he moves on. This time I think I found his secret haunt, a little further along. And not only that there are a pair of them. They were so besotted with each other they haven’t noticed me. They did up and take off when a great clumsy duck flew in and invaded their space. I did get a few pics but I would like to get closer yet. I’ll keep trying.

I took quite a few photos of this bird, a Whistling Kite. He was showing me many different poses. Here are just some.

There are a lot of these birds living here with us. They are friendly, don’t cause any concern and are a delight to watch as they roam around, wandering in and out of the garden around my house. This guy seem to have something in his mouth to take away.

They’re often called Purple Swamphens, but the blue is, I think, more blue than purple.

This ones off, flashing his white behind as he goes.

Today began with amazing clear skies and the promise that Spring was on its way. However, that was short lived. The clouds came over and the rain began. Again. It’s raining now. Again. Very unusual for here. So I had to look back a few days to find a photo or two. None taken today.
Years ago, I had a rambly rose that needed to be removed. So it was. But I couldn’t just destroy it. It was removed to the water’s edge. It stunned me as I wandered past with a single red bloom. In such depressing weather it is a ray of sunshine. I also noticed a very shy dove hiding in a tree nearby. I think it was very cold, too.

After the rain the birds seem to emerge. As I wandered along the creek there were lots of darters, finally getting the chance to dry out. The fair weather didn’t last. I can hear rain on the roof as I write this.
