Out front
Cormorant… We went for a drive looking for birdlife. I found this one showing a bit of tail feather, in the lagoon out front.

He was posing quite proudly for me.

The beautiful parrots are happily munching away on the sunflower seeds. They seem to have a very methodical approach. There are still a few seeds left.

It looked like a leaf, a large leaf. When we shifted it onto the flower, we noticed the amazing colour underneath. I guess it’s a stick insect of some kind. I wish I had taken more pictures of it now.

In Australia there is a wonderful award winning, animated TV show called Bluey, about a Blue Healer puppy, her mum, dad and sister. As we were driving today, south of Pyramid Hill, we passed some decorated hay bales, portraying the characters. The farmer has produced some other very clever displays, for Queen’s Birthday and Anzac Day

These little guys have just popped out of their eggs. One is a guinea fowl the rest are chicken.

My poppies were lovely but now in the height of summer, they turned from flowers to seed pods and then they disappeared.
I’m hoping that they will emerge self sown next year. Meanwhile I saved these pics of the pods.

I am fascinated by seed pods. They’re mesmerizing.

My state is in Lock Down again. Here’s what I did the house last time, planted some sunnies.
I used to have a row of very overgrown agapanthus out the front of my house. They came out, (with an excavator) and I grew some sunflowers.

The sunflowers grew very well, taller than I had envisaged.
