Sunset
Cloudy this evening, but no rain predicted. Sunset was lovely.

Cloudy this evening, but no rain predicted. Sunset was lovely.

The things you see!! It was a strange day. Unusually for this area, there was a build up of clouds, a promise of rain and a threat of flooding. It had been very dry. We were driving around on roads that would be impassable after even a light sprinkle of rain, taking photos of the wildlife. Very few people live out here.
The sky was different. There was an air of expectation. Suddenly we stopped, and backed up, to take this photo. What was that hanging in the dead tree?

I’m still not sure.

It’s April, mid Autumn here and still quite warm. The flowers are fading. Here is one of my dahlias I grew from seed, waving its petals around in protest.

What a beautiful Easter break here
Warm sunshine and balmy evenings
I often feel sad when I feel the soft breeze on such a day
Exactly the same feeling as the day my mother passed away
At this time, that seems like only yesterday.
Feeling the loss
Feeling fragile myself, but comforted by the thought that this might well be my son on his way south to visit.

These two came for a fleeting visit, last week. They stayed for a day or two and moved on.

I’m not sure what this one was up to. There were a pair in a tree. And this one was acting like a woodpecker!
Don’t be shy. Let’s see you.

What are you doing?

I’ll get closer.

Your mate above, is watching you too, wondering…

I saw this beauty by the side of the road last week. I wish I had been quicker to focus on him when he flew away.

I haven’t been able to be out and about, so I included a random assortment of birds today.

…..while having a quick bite to eat.

These were all lined up along the same stretch of bank. They seemed to be very happily co-existing.
