Pelican take off
I must have scared him off! So pleased the camera caught him at just the right moment.

My neighbours have invested in a pair of alpacas to protects their sheep. So cute.

He’s probably just a starling but in the sun, his feathers were shining. really pretty. He as so shy he kept behind the branch, so I wasn’t able to get a good snap of him.

Mr Personality

I wanted to take photos of this little fella, but I think he spotted me and flew off. I think he’s a white faced heron.

His legs are long, but his wings are even more impressive.

A more unusual angle.

A while back I posted pics of a nest of baby birds. One is still a regular visitor here. Follow the links to see the baby Darters
More photos of the darters. When they were very young. and the rest of the family.
They certainly change over time.

I love the smell of Lantana. I also love the flowers. In Australia it’s widely regarded as a nasty invasive weed. No wonder. Mine has just exploded with growth. It’s huge. I have only one plant and it hasn’t spread to anywhere nearby. I Prune it savagely to keep it under control. It’s well away from livestock. Apparently its poisonous. How can something so beautiful, have so many negative aspects?

For Cee’s Flower of the Day Challenge (FOTD)
Cloudy this evening, but no rain predicted. Sunset was lovely.

It’s April, mid Autumn here and still quite warm. The flowers are fading. Here is one of my dahlias I grew from seed, waving its petals around in protest.

Also for Cee’s Flower of the Day (FOTD)
What a beautiful Easter break here
Warm sunshine and balmy evenings
I often feel sad when I feel the soft breeze on such a day
Exactly the same feeling as the day my mother passed away
At this time, that seems like only yesterday.
Feeling the loss
Feeling fragile myself, but comforted by the thought that this might well be my son on his way south to visit.
