Turtle

We’ve just sown in some seed and my husband came rushing in, telling me to get the cameras, there was a turtle in the back paddock. It must have been attracted by the water and decided to lay some eggs. We took some photos from a distance being careful not to disturb her. My husband made a great effort to lie in the mud to get a shot. Perhaps the turtle thought that to be normal behaviour, because it wasn’t bothered.

Flying away

I wanted to take photos of this little fella, but I think he spotted me and flew off. I think he’s a white faced heron.

His legs are long, but his wings are even more impressive.

A more unusual angle.

Miles from nowhere

The things you see!! It was a strange day. Unusually for this area, there was a build up of clouds, a promise of rain and a threat of flooding. It had been very dry. We were driving around on roads that would be impassable after even a light sprinkle of rain, taking photos of the wildlife. Very few people live out here.

The sky was different. There was an air of expectation. Suddenly we stopped, and backed up, to take this photo. What was that hanging in the dead tree?

I’m still not sure.
